The Hiwassee Dam Soaring Eagles 4-H Club & Modern Woodmen Club are always working together to “Make the Best Better”  through community service. Each year the clubs do multiple community service projects including making pumpkin pies for all the local senior citizen centers Thanksgiving meal. This is a tradition for the club and Lynn Hamby, 4-H volunteer of the year, has been continuing the tradition for over 20 years. children making a piechildren making pieschildren stirring filling

Pies are not the only giving they do at Valentine’s Day they decorate cupcakes for all the senior centers and meals on wheels deliveries throughout the county. The combined clubs have put hygiene bags together for the homeless shelter and youth hygiene bags for youth at schools are in need. We have made cookies, planted trees, planted flowers, put flags on graves for Memorial Day, and many, many more projects around the school, community, and county.
