Sit & Knit Extension Community Association Club

Sit & Knit is a community fiber group for adults over 18 who are knitters, crocheters or interested in learning.

Daytime Sessions

The Sit & Knit Day session is held each 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at the Extension Education Annex (699B Connaheeta Street, Murphy, NC) located across from the rock gym and adjacent to the Murphy Health and Fitness gym.

Evening Sessions

The Sit & Knit Night session is held each 4th Tuesday from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the same location (699B Connaheeta Street, Murphy) and is led by Sandi Suda, ECA Volunteer Leader.

We have beginner kits for knitting and crochet, so we encourage anyone who would like to learn to join the Sit & Knit group at the most convenient time for them. If you are experienced, please bring your project to work on. Tables and chairs will be set up, with plenty of room,  so bring a friend too!

Our objective is to provide warm items for the community during the cold months of the year. We collectively work toward collecting hats, gloves, scarves, and blankets that are handmade and donated to those in need. Projects worked on at the Sit & Knit sessions do not have to be for donation, but we encourage members to contribute throughout the year.
