Collapse ▲Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Cherokee County will be offering free gardening classes on the second Wednesday of every month from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. are being offered by the NC State Extension, Cherokee County Master Gardener Speakers Bureau. Classes will be held at Konehete Park located at 699 Connahetta Street in Murphy, NC.
A very popular class on Butterfly Gardens will share the components of creating a successful butterfly garden, including regional species of butterflies, site preparation, plants for larvae and nectar and garden accessories that attract butterflies.
Companion Planting will explore the benefits of companion planting,
including plants that trap, attract, deter and improve plant vitality.
Managing Garden Pests is a helpful class on how to combat major pestsin our area, prevention tactics, infestation control and Integrated Pest management (IPM).
