Collapse ▲The Cherokee County 4-H Horse Club sent in 13 entries to the State 4-H Horse Artistic Expression & Creative Writing Contest this summer at the State 4-H Horse Show in Raleigh.
The members that entered were: Eliana & Eliza Meiners, Faith Ward, Bella and Katelyn Hedden, Rebecca and Rachel Carver, and Hannah Dockery. Each club member entered a “fake stained glass” horse head picture in the Craft Contest at the State 4-H Horse Show that they had created during a club meeting. Along with her horse head picture, Eliana Meiners entered a horse related photograph, a short story, and an essay. Eliza Meiners also entered a horse related photograph and short story.
Hannah Dockery is the only Cloverbud that had an entry. All 4-H’ers ages 5-7 are considered Cloverbuds. All 4-H Cloverbuds do not compete but do win for a least entering the competition. Hannah won a Blue Cloverbud Ribbon and a Horse Show metal for her entry.
Faith Ward won 5th place in the Senior division of the Craft Contest with her “Fake Stained Glass Horse Head.”
Eliza Meiners won 6th place in the Junior Horse Creative Writing Contest with her entry titled “Unexpected Opportunities.”
Eliana Meiners won 7th place in the Junior Horse Photography Contest and 10th place in the Junior division of the Craft Contest. In the Junior Horse Creative Writing Contest, Eliana won 2nd place in the essay contest with her entry titled “God’s Amazing Work” and placed 4th in the short story contest with her entry titled “A Blue Ribbon.”
