Cherokee on the Fly 4-H Club

Thursday | Oct 01 | 6:00 PM — 8:00 PM 699 Connahetta St, Murphy, NC 28906, USA

The 4-H Fly Tying Club meets on the 1st Thursday at 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Extension Education Room, next to the Cherokee County Parks and Rec office, behind the Old Rock Gym. All youth in grades 6-12, no matter which school they attend or whether they are home-schooled, are welcome to join.

We will combine traditional skills such as fly fishing, sport fishing, hunting, and trapping to develop curious, skilled youth who foster the conservation of natural resources and prioritize safety. The club is free to join. Members will also be learning about the environment and the different insects and creatures they are tying flies to mimic. Youth do not need to know anything about fly fishing to join the club.
