Register for the West District 4-H Teen Winterfest

(Updated: Jan. 24, 2024, 6:40 p.m.)

The West District 4-H Teen Officer Council has put together a great winter event, 4-H Teen Winterfest, February 24, from 10-3. The goal of our 4-H teen officer team this year is to increase participation, motivate and engage youth at our West District 4-H events. Participants should be enrolled in 4-H on 4-H Online.

We will begin the day at the Haywood County Cooperative Extension office to participate in activities that will foster social skills and provide opportunities to get to know our West District 4-H officer team. Lunch will be provided. We plan to have a Hot Cocoa Station and snacks available. To provide some team building and community service, we have planned a H.U.G.S service project. Everyone can bring Hats, Umbrellas, Gloves, or scarves. These will be divided up and placed in HUGS bags for counties to take back and donate bags to a shelter/need of their choice. Participants will be able to recognize this service project on their Achievement Plans and Project Record books as a District level service project. We will wrap up the day at Tube World (where we are utilizing the group rate). Cost is $50 per participant but may be covered by our county 4-H program.

If you are at teen ages 12-18 and would like to register for the West District 4-H Teen Winterfest, please contact Shannon Coleman, at 828-837-2210 ext 4 or email shannon_coleman@ncsu.edu by February 14th.
