Produce Safety Training

Three Programs are now available for signup to learn about produce safety.

8:30-4:30 pm

This is an interactive workshop so that anyone who grows produce learns how to put a cleaning and sanitation program in place, learn how to use cleaners and sanitizers and what equipment is available to do this process effectively and efficiently.  Even though the focus is for large farms, we will discuss an array of options that fits small to large farms. Cost is $50.

If you work with fruit and vegetable growers this is a one day class that goes over what are the requirements of FSMA's Produce Safety Rule. You will also learn foundations of produce safety. You are wondering why should I come? You will learn how to help your growers identify issues/ practices that may be considered risky when it comes to the safety of fresh produce. Cost is $50.00 for NC growers.

This is a 3 hour workshop where we will go over changes to USDA Gap Harmonized Audits, provide updates on FSMA's Produce Safety Rule, have a keynote speaker talk about timely topics on food safety and industry partners will go over resources to make food safety programs more efficient. 

Growers who participate will receive certificate of participation for to fulfill audit training requirement. 

Speakers include: auditors, industry reps and keynote speaker.
