Welcome Angela Clem Our New Administrative Assistant

(Updated: May 9, 2024, 5:56 a.m.)

We would like to welcome Angela Clem to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Cherokee County Center as our new administrative assistant.

We have been missing the assistance of an administrative assistant since the retirement of our previous administrative assistant, Cindy Chastain, who had dedicated 32 years to our office.

Angela is a Tampa, Florida native but grew up coming to Western North Carolina camping and vacationing with her family as a young girl.  She was the Secretary of FFA and President of FHA for most of her school career. She enjoys all things plants, animals, crafts and being a part of her children's various activities.

Angela's mother's family moved to Murphy about 35 years ago. Her family moved here 8 years ago and has become part of the Cherokee County family.  Angela's previous career was as an Insurance Agent and Trainer for 24 years prior to moving to Murphy.

She and her husband, Barron Clem, were high school sweethearts and have been married for 21 years. She has 3 children, Barron Clem, Jr is 28 and lives in Tampa, FL and is an Insurance Claims Supervisor. Olivia Clem is 18 and graduated MHS in 2023, and now attends Kennesaw State University in Georgia.  Cameron Clem is 15 and is currently attending Murphy High School.  They also have a very rotten Chocolate Lab named Ronin who is 3 years old.

Angela and her family are very involved with the community, their church, and sports. They love their community of friends and family.  They also enjoy hiking with their friends and visiting local restaurants.

Welcome Angela to the N.C. Cooperative Extension family, we wish you a long happy career with us.
