Collapse ▲This Cherokee On The Fly 4-H Club will start back January 2025. They have been on break from June 2024 to December 2024 to allow our volunteer recovery time from surgery. Our first meeting date of the year will be January 16th.
The Cherokee On The Fly 4-H Club members learn to tie flies, learn how to cast a fly rod so no previous experience is necessary. The club is free to join. Members will also be learning about the environment and different insects and creatures that they are tying fly’s to mimic. Youth do not need to know anything about fly fishing to join the club. The club meets the 3rd Thursdays at 3:30p.m. until 5:30p.m. at the Extension Meeting Room, next to the Cherokee County Parks and Rec office behind the Old Rock Gym, at 699 Conaheeta Street, Murphy. All youth grades 6-12, no matter what school or if they are home-schooled are welcome to join.
