EFNEP, Health and Nutrition ClassesThe New Year is a great time to start changing some old habits. If your focus for 2023 is to start living a healthier lifestyle, not only for yourself, but for your family as well, now you can by registering for our upcoming nutrition program Healthy Habits for the New Year! This program is offered at no cost to you. By enrolling in this program, you will learn new ways to cook healthy meals at home, be more active, save money on food costs, and handle food safely. The best part is that all of the recipes you will learn about are just under $14 for a family of four!

Not only are the recipes nutritious and budget friendly but when you complete the program you will receive:

  • A certificate of completion from NC EFNEP, N.C. Cooperative Extension, NC State University and NC A&T State University;
  • A cookbook of quick and healthy recipes full of valuable tips to help you save money and prepare food safely; 
  • Kitchen tools to practice what you learn at home and
  • Skills that help you feed your family better for less.

This program will be offered at the Union County Library beginning January 5th and at Dickerson Recreation Center beginning January 10th from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. We will meet once a week for six weeks and discuss various topics related to nutrition, food safety, and physical activity. Register now to begin building healthy habits for the new year!
