4-H Livestock Informational Meeting

Currituck County 4-H will host an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, starting at 6 p.m. The main topics we will be discussing during this informational meeting will be the 2022 Currituck Livestock and Poultry Programs. Register for this event at https://livestock-poultry2022.eventbrite.com. Participants can choose to attend in person or online via Zoom. Participants that choose the virtual setting will receive a Zoom link 48 hours prior to the meeting. This meeting will be geared towards parents, but youth are welcome to attend.

The 2022 Albemarle Area 4-H Livestock Show and Sale will be held on April 26 and 27, 2022. The Livestock Show and Sale is a 4-H project for youth to raise, exhibit, and then sell a market-quality animal (lamb, goat, hog, and/or steer). Youth must be age 5 (and in kindergarten, not Pre-K) and must not have graduated high school to participate. We will discuss this information and go over other important dates and regulations regarding this program during the meeting.

Currituck County 4-H is hosting a Domestic Poultry Show in the fall of 2022. The show is open to all youth ages 5-18, and there is a registration fee for that program. During this informational meeting we will discuss the possible changes we are making with this program and how you can participate.

Currently, in-person classes for youth require masks to be worn for the duration of the class without exception. If you arrive without a mask one will be provided for you. We ask all participants to maintain six feet of distance while on the premises. We are following the current NC State University guidelines and mandates. If you are not able to meet these requirements, or if you need accommodations for persons with disabilities please contact Stephanie Minton at (252) 232-2262 or by email at stephanie_minton@ncsu.edu no later than 10 business days prior to class.
