Photo Competition Logo

The 15th Annual Wildlife In North Carolina Magazine Photo Competition is now underway. According to the NC Wildlife Commission’s website, the purpose of this competition is to “encourage people to participate in nature photography, thereby  fostering greater understanding and appreciation of North Carolina’s wildlife and wild places”.

Photographers of all ages are challenged to enter their photos for competition in categories such as Birds, Mammals, Reptiles and Amphibians, Invertebrates, Wild Landscapes, Wild Plants and Fungi, Outdoor Recreation and Animal Behavior. There are two youth categories for photographers under the age of 18. Youth may enter the contest free of charge; however, adults MUST be a subscriber to Wildlife In North Carolina Magazine.

First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each category and all winning photos will be published in the January-February edition of the magazine. The Grand Prize winner will win an additional $200 plus have their photograph published on the cover of the January-February issue of Wildlife in North Carolina.
