Hemp Law 101: The Regulation of Industrial Hemp
Industrial Hemp is becoming the hottest crop with the most interest in recent months. It has more than 25,000 uses including clothing, paper, health supplements, hempcrete and as an additive to foods and beverages—is a crop with potential to revive struggling farms into financially viable and booming production centers. NC State University has a website devoted to keeping the public informed on the latest information about growing and selling hemp. The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is the entity in charge of regulating the growing of hemp. They have a website that has the forms and documents for licenses, permits, rules, and other information.
