Nora Starks Memorial 4-H/Youth Open Fun Show Coming Soon
The Cherokee Riders 4-H Horse Club cordially invites you to attend the Nora Starks Memorial 4-H/Youth Open Fun Show. It will be held September 17, at Mountain Folk Center, in Ranger, NC. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. for the horse show and the show starts at 12:00 p.m. The arena has been renovated nicely so come out and see all the hard work that has made a great place for our community to ride.
We will have a variety of events for all children ages 5 to 18, regardless of 4-H membership. Events for the horse show include riding and non-riding events like: Stick Pony (non-riders);Pole Bending (Riders); 3-Legged Race (Non-riders); and Cloverleaf Barrels (Riders). There are 30 different classes. Youth are riding against youth in their own age group except for the open classes, which are open to youth 9-18. A negative coggins is required for all horses. Helmets are required for all riders. You must bring your own helmet.
Ribbons will be awarded to all 1st -5th places in all divisions except Cloverbud(ages 5-8) and a few of the open classes that are noted on the show bill. All Cloverbuds will receive a participation ribbon. Each event is $4.00 for all 4-H Members (from any state) and $5.00 for non 4-H members or $25.00 for all events even if you are not a 4-H member. Membership for Cherokee County 4-H will be available at the show. Concessions will be available.
