Change of Date for Mountain Folk Center Day

Due to the weather forecast, we plan to postpone this event until Saturday, Nov. 8th. We are sorry for any inconvenience and hope that you will be able to attend on November 8th. We plan to have the exact format/timeline on this new date.

To kick off making the Mountain Folk Center the place for community events, the first Mountain Folk Center Day is planned for November 8th this year. A very festive atmosphere is anticipated with Bluegrass music and an exhibition of local quilts. 4-H members will be selling concessions for the day beginning at 12:00 noon until 5:00 in the afternoon. Admission will be $5 for Adults and children are free.  All proceeds will go to the Mountain Folk Center and Cherokee County 4-H. Put on your favorite blue jeans and flannel shirt and join us for a fun afternoon celebrating 100 years of North Carolina Cooperative Extension and Cherokee County’s wonderful mountain heritage. The Mountain Folk Center is located at 9275 US Hwy 64 West, Murphy, NC  28906.
