Wood Receives Scholarship to Attend Annual Carolina Meat Conference
Keith Wood, Agriculture Agent in Cherokee County, received a scholarship to attend the Annual Carolina Meat Conference. Wood will be attending to focus on proper butchering techniques of animals. Other topics of the classes will include Growing Local Meat Supply Chains with Integrity, Fundamentals of Low Stress Animal Handling for Producers and Processors, Women in the Meat Business, Controlling Input Costs in Pasture-Based Livestock Production and many others. Keith will be returning to Cherokee County to provide training to new and existing butcher shops and providing advise to potential new businesses related to Meat Production.
